Ranjit Singh reporting on the match said “A great close match, Ormeau came back from 3-4 down to win it 6-4. Jeff lead the come back by close win over Chris, followed by Connor’s win over Julian and then excellent doubles win by Tim & Connor against Khao & Julian.
Match of the day was Jeff Irwine vs Chris White. Jeff fought back from 2 sets and 3-5 points down in 3rd set to win the match. Jeff took the fifth set 12-10 with good serves and control game. Chris played a very good match. There were so many long rallies along with ups and down in this match.
Joel had a good straight sets win over Chris and lost a tight match against Queens star player Khoa.
Tim had lost before against Julian in away match but this time he had a plan which he executed perfectly to win 3-1. Tim’s solid performances in last few matches is helping Ormeau to climb the Div 2 league ladder.
All Queens players Khao, Julian and Chris played a very high quality close entertaining matches.”

But the school was nice and warm and the craic was great. The games were all hard fought and played in a very friendly atmosphere. It did snow quuite heavily on the way home but well worth the run to Banbridge for a great nights competitive table tennis.

First of all delighted to report that ranjit Singh made his premier debut and gave a great account of attacking play. Secondly privilege to witness the next generation of talent ni players coming very quickly up the senior ranks. The two boys on display tonight nearly bought off a tremendous victory but credit to the Antrim team who had to play their best match of the season to get a very narrow victory. Dawid had to be at his best to get all three close wins, father Pawel who is going though a lot of pain lately on his knee, pulled off two wins and Andy played intelligent play to get a vital win for Antrim to record a 6-4 victory.
All in all table tennis is the big winner this evening and I wish these young prodigies the best for the remainder of the season.”.
