Ballyholme 7 – 3 Ormeau 4

Tonight we saw Ballyholme take on Ormeau 4 at home in Division 4 of the Belfast and District Table Tennis League. The match ended with a score line of Ballyholme (7) and Ormeau 4 (3). The format for the match was a 4 Vs 4 player format.

Paul Clarke reporting on the match said “The young Ormeau team got off to a flyer with Matthew winning 2 close sets v Albert. Albert came back to 2-2 in a quality encounter but Matthew got over the line in the final set. Ray then went 2-0 down to Alex in close sets and captured the 3rd but Alex won the 4th to give Ormeau a 2-0 lead. Ballyholme then won the next 3 matches without losing a set although the Ormeau players made many great shots and rallies in those defeats. Matthew beat Ray 3-1 to bring Ormeau level at 3-3. Ballyholme managed to win the remaining 4 matches with the highlights being Ron coming back from 2-1 down in sets v Grace and 4-1 down in points in the final set. Set of the night goes to Alex and Aaditya who beat Paul and Ron 21-19 in one of the sets in their doubles match. Ballyholme won’t be beating this talented young Ormeau team for much longer!”
