Belfast and District Table Tennis Division 1 – Brooklands (7) – Glenburn (3).
Tonight we saw Brooklands take on Glenburn at home in Division 1 of the Belfast and District Table Tennis League. The match ended with a score line of Brooklands (7) and Glenburn (3). The format for the match was a 3 Vs 3 player format. Randolph Loney reporting on the match said “Celebrations still ongoing… Brooklands win first match in Premier league.. A few nets and edges helped the cause. Out of the blocks came basher Dickson to empty Willie to one point.. Then Willie takes off his coat and rinses Barry next 3 sides!.. Next game up was for the purists.. Norman and me, who could keep it on the table the longest.. Brooklands managed it!!. Mark playing at 3, was mesmeric in despatching all three from Glenburn, his highlight was winning in 5 over Willie, a terrific slug fest. The Glenburn doubles won in straight sets., apparently they don’t lose….. many!!.. Great match with usual belly laughs, and huge shout out to Stephen Turkingtons, in showing great Christmas spirit,.. He chose to watch, and also supplied a super supper for all… Take note team’s!!!”.
