Tonight we saw Civil Service B take on Ormeau 2A at home in Division 2 of the Belfast and District Table Tennis League. The match ended with a score line of Civil Service B (5) and Ormeau 2A (5). The format for the match was a 4 Vs 4 player format.
Jeff Irvine reporting on the match said “This was a super match with all to play for from the off, the older experienced players of CS versus the young energy of the Ormeau team, a real clash of different styles and skills. The match was played in an excellent, welcoming atmosphere and thanks to the Civil service team for a very pleasant nights TT. Players of the evening were Andreas and Martin both of whom had clean sheets for their respective teams, though some great battling from all players made for excellent sport on the night, a respectable draw was a fair result at the end and both NPC’s (Neil and Jeff) were pleased to shake hands on a good evenings table tennis.”
