Tonight we saw Killyleagh take on Banbridge A at home in Division 3 of the Belfast and District Table Tennis League. The match ended with a score line of Killyleagh (5) and Banbridge A (5). The format for the match was a 3 Vs 3 player format. Andrew Gibson reporting on the match said “And it all came down to the last doubles… This time, however, Killyleagh were 5-4 down and on the verge of a first defeat. Banbridge took the first game of the doubles 11-6 but Andrew and Adrian managed to pull through and both teams left happy that 5-5 was a fair result in the end. Killyleagh all looked like men who were struggling to comprehend how much spin Jimmy Sterling puts on the ball while Banbridge will look back on a couple of matches which they could have won. Still only a point separates the 2 teams in a division which looks like it could go to the last round of matches before it is decided”.
