Gus Agnew reporting on the match said “Entertaining match with the victory only secured by Civil Service in the final set of the final Doubles match. Alex has certainly strengthened Ormeau’s squad although his female team mates played some powerful table tennis to win valuable matches. In the end the old boys from Civil Service with their funny bats and unorthodox shots just pipped Ormeau to the post. An enjoyable evenng’s table tennis played in a good spirit.”
