Tonight we saw ST Anne’s A take on Glenburn A at home in Division 1 of the Belfast and District Table Tennis League. The match ended with a score line of ST Anne’s A (3) and Glenburn A (7). The format for the match was a 3 Vs 3 player format. William Cherry reporting on the match said “Great night’s Table Tennis with some very tight matches. Andy nearly winning all 3 matches but got pipped twice deuce in the fifth.
Willie 2 games down to both Mervyn and Rodney but coming good in the fifth.
Norman having a good night and winning against the talented Mervyn Funston for the first time.
Richard and Rodney gave Norman and Willie a great game in the doubles in a close 5 setter.
Match played in a competitive but very enjoyable environment .”.
